The first youth clubs were formed in the 1950’s for all youth involved with the sorority, as Zetalites, Archonettes, or Amicettes. However, participation in club activities quickly increased to the point that the club was divided into two age groups. The high school girls kept the name of the Archonette Club, which accepts members who are in high school (ages 14-18). The younger girls became the Amicette Club (ages 9-13), and in the 1970’s the Pearlette Club (ages 4-8) was organized.

Numerous chapters of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated sponsor these youth affiliates. With continued program development and the establishment of guidelines, these clubs have become viable links of the sorority.

Amicettes
ages 9 - 13

Amicettes are girls who are willing to strive toward the high ideals of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and who demonstrate potential for leadership in service to the community. Through various programs sponsored by our chapter Amicettes are given opportunities to learn about themselves, help others and internalize qualities that will make them good students and community citizens.

Pearlettes are pre-school to elementary age young girls who want to emulate Zeta’s ideals of community service, friendliness to others and Finer Womanhood. Through various programs sponsored by our chapter Pearlettes gain greater self-esteem, lasting friendships and learn how to get along with others.

Archonettes are high school-aged young ladies (14 – 18) who demonstrate an interest in the goals and the ideals of scholarship, sisterly love, and community service. Through various programs sponsored by our chapter, Archonettes gain greater self-esteem, lasting friendships, cultural enhancement and leadership skills.
