Our Chapter History

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated Lambda Delta Zeta Chapter was organized at the home of Soror Sylvia Thomas on the campus of Lomax-Hannon Industrial College in Greenville, Alabama on September 1981. The necessary forms were completed and the request for a charter was sent to National Headquarters. The chapter was chartered October 14, 1981. The six charter members were Soror Sylvia Thomas, Soror Betty Whittle, Soror Theodora Crenshaw, Soror Mary C. Andrews, Soror Georgia Lucas and Soror Gloria Robinson. 

Lambda Delta Zeta Chapter stands firmly on the principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood. As a chapter we strive to service our community through the many activities, act of kindness and support given and presented each calendar year. 

This sorority year has proven to be an exciting and memorable year for the Legendary Lambda Delta Zeta Chapter in Greenville, Alabama. Through our national service program Z-HOPE: Zetas Helping Other People Excel, we have partnered with various agencies and non-profit organizations to serve the needs of our community.  We have partnered with the March of Dimes, American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, LifeSouth, Relay for Life and the American Heart Association.

In the Fall of 2019, Lambda Delta Zeta Chapter reactivated our Adult Auxiliary, Zeta Amicae and our Zeta Youth Auxiliaries, the Archonettes, the Amicettes and the Pearlettes. The Lambda Delta Zeta Chapter has been on the move for Zeta!
Today, the Lambda Delta Zeta Chapter is the current home for of 23 women from various educational backgrounds who each brings a wealth of information, resources and experiences that have made the Lambda Delta Zeta Chapter a force to be reckoned with!
